United States Parties Throughout Time

Below this point are the scattertext diagrams created from every presidential speech in US history. They have been broken up according to the time period each speech occured during. As you descend, they will get more recent. The goal of this project was to allow people to be able to explore partisanship throughout time in the United States. Comparing different political parties and their usage of language has shown a real difference in the levels of partisanship and types of partisan issues we face. Many differences between these groups of people become apparent when looking at the charts covering the breakdown of word frequencies of presidential speeches across different eras of our politics.
